Horizon House recently nominated one of our Developmental Services partners, Chef Peg Botto, for a special award through the Brighter Future Awards. The Brighter Future Awards is a ceremony facilitated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual Disabilities Services in Philadelphia. We are happy to share that Cheg Peg won the award she was nominated for!
Chef Peg won the Employment Award of Excellence for her kind efforts in employing Horizon House participants at her business, Cosmic Cafe. They build skills and develop as people through their employment at Cosmic Cafe. Chef Peg is providing Horizon House participants the opportunity to work, earn money, and gain confidence as individuals at Cosmic Cafe. She serves as both a boss and friend to our participants as they have the chance to work in the real world among the rest of society.
